About the Role

Reporting to the Service and Quality Manager, you will use your nursing expertise to develop effective training packages and deliver these to keen Disability Support Workers. You will be the go-to person for advice and guidance around all things clinical to benefit our current participants and those onboarding. You will have outstanding time management skills and the ability to work to competing deadlines. Your communication skills will be advanced (both written and verbal) and confident in your computing/software skills.

 

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to facilitate competency assessments for several of the NDIS High Intensity support skills descriptors:
    • Complex bowel care
    • Urinary catheters
    • Enteral feeding management
    • Severe dysphagia management
    • Diabetes management and subcutaneous injections
    • Complex wound care
    • Tracheostomy care
    • Safe medication management (including S4 & S8 meds)
    • Mealtime management
    • Epilepsy Management
    • Asthma management
  • Identify training needs/gaps and plan appropriately  
  • Review medication management within residential and community settings.

 

 

Criteria

  • At least three years’ experience as Registered Nurse in a clinical setting or similar role
  • Experience developing and delivering training packages
  • Degree in Nursing and AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse
  • Current WWCC, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Driver Licence
  • Experience supporting people with a disability (desirable)
  • Previous experience using Flowlogic software (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and National Disability Standards (desirable).
