Clinical Nurse Educator - maternity leave

Job No: SUBC19
Location: Wallsend

Are you an experienced RN looking to step beyond bedside care?

Join Sublime Care as a Clinical Care Educator, on a temporary maternity leave contract, where you’ll make a lasting impact by empowering and mentoring Disability Support Workers to deliver exceptional care.

About the Role:

As a Clinical Care Educator, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of frontline care at Sublime Care. You'll wear two key hats, combining your clinical expertise with your passion for teaching:

  • Clinical Care: Support participants with complex needs, review and update care plans, and provide expert clinical care that makes a real difference.
  • Education and Training: Develop and deliver hands-on, practical training programs that empower our Disability Support Workers, enhancing their skills and confidence.

What You’ll Do:

As an essential part of our Quality Team, you will:

  • Create impactful learning experiences: Build training packages and deliver interactive sessions to Disability Support Workers, covering high-intensity support skills such as:
    • Complex bowel care
    • Enteral feeding management
    • Diabetes management & subcutaneous injections
    • Tracheostomy care
    • Safe medication management (including S4 & S8)
    • Mealtime management and more!
  • Identify skills gaps: Assess the needs of our team and tailor training programs that bridge those gaps.
  • Audit and improve care: Conduct audits on medication management across both residential and community settings.
  • Mentor and inspire: Lead by example, guiding our service teams and support workers to uphold best-practice standards.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who brings both expertise and enthusiasm:

  • Available for a temporary contract from October 2025 to September 2026.
  • Current AHPRA registration (RN) and experience delivering high intensity supports in either disability or clinical settings.
  • A strong passion for nursing education and hands-on training (experience is a plus!).
  • The ability to turn care plans into practical, easy-to-understand training materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for clear documentation.
  • A natural mentor with outstanding time management skills.
  • Comfortable with technology and proficient in using software like Flowlogic (bonus!).
  • Relevant certifications like Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
  • Knowledge of NDIS Practice and Aged Care Standards is a plus!

Why Sublime Care?

  • Work-life balance: Enjoy a part-time role with required shifts on Monday and Thursday, plus the flexibility to choose a third day that suits you!
  • Competitive hourly rate based on your experience.
  • A supportive, team-oriented environment where your contributions are valued.
  • Fun perks: Celebrate your birthday and work anniversaries with us!
  • Access to free EAP services to support your well-being.
